SWOT Analysis

A SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis:

This tool serves as a comparison of our client’s business to competitor and comparator businesses, as a way to create a present-day context from which to view the user’s experience.

Problem Statement

CR Juices’ customers need a succinct, convenient, and interactive digital hub that supports their healthy lifestyles.

The Problem Statement and Why Statement are important tools to keep us grounded in the reasons why we’re doing a particular design project.

The aim of the Problem Statement is to sum up, based on our initial stakeholder meeting, where the users may be having difficulties. It summarizes the main issue needing to be solved in the design.

Why Statement

In contrast, the Why Statement serves as the core reason users want to interact with this company through our new design.

To incorporate nourishing food into their busy lives through a convenient mobile ordering experience.

User Persona

Research that informed the creation of this user persona includes:

  • Given information from stakeholder meetings
  • Area research (e.g. demographics)
  • SWOT Analysis

This is the fictional person whose perspective we aim to keep at the center through the rest of the design process.

Design

Solution Approach

The list of UI deliverables we created to develop a design that addresses Nina’s goals and pain points:

  • Color palette
  • Mood board
  • Sketching
  • Wireframing
  • Mockup

Color Palette

We started with colors from the existing CR Juices logo.

Inspiration sources:

  • Fresh ingredients Nina seeks to support her lifestyle and that our stakeholder reports being important in their marketing strategy
  • Exterior building design of the cafe

Mood Board

Purpose of this mood board:
A collection of visual references that aim to capture the emotional and sensory experience with this design. The themes of this mood board that align with our user’s goals:

  • Common value with stakeholder business of ingredient transparency
  • Products in line with her lifestyle.

Sketching

Each of the team members created sketches to gather our individual ideas quickly for the design solution.

We drew on these sketches to produce our wireframes in the next phase.

Wireframing

During this phase, we wanted to focus on using wireframing to support our user Nina’s goals and help ease her frustrations.

Mockup

Adding to the wireframe designs, we added the color palette, images, icons, logo, and formatting for both mobile and desktop use.
